Education Experience

I work at the intersection of education access and social justice. My ten years of experience as a non-profit educator focuses on creating spaces for young people—particularly students of color and those from under-resourced backgrounds—to be creative, build community, and have agency in their learning and lives. I design participant-centered activities that allow youth to take positive risks and use their experiences and interests to find entry points into their learning.

Most recently at 826NYC, a youth writing nonprofit, I oversaw the programs and volunteer department. During my tenure as Director of Education, I strategically grew the Young Writers’ Publish program, deepened student social-emotional and writing impact, and transformed our workshops and after-school program after NYC public schools shut down due to COVID-19.

Previously I was a Senior Programs Coordinator at Girls Write Now, a writing and mentoring organization for girls and gender non-conforming youth. There, I spearheaded the College Bound Program, designed writing curriculum, and led student outreach efforts.
